St John's Church in Hoxton was packed out with around 250 adults and children for our annual Carols by Candlelight service last Sunday. The service was themed around 'The Greatest Show' - the greatest show on earth and in history being when God shows himself in Jesus Christ

Sing For A Change, the community organising choir, along with guests performed 'The Greatest Show' from the film The Greatest Showman - and blended it seamlessly into O Holy Night. Another stellar performance was given by the school choir from St John the Baptist Primary School.

Bible readings were given by members of the church, as well as community representatives: Toni Mason, Headteacher at St John the Baptist Primary School; Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney South & Shoreditch; and Carol Williams, Councillor for Hoxton West. Children and youth from the church led intercessions; Revd Graham Hunter gave the sermon; and the church's worship team, led by John Wyatt, led the congregation in singing carols. Mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies were served after the service.
