Digital Inclusion - Devices & Data Distributed!

Members of St John's Hoxton have been working with an alliance of local organisations to tackle the problem of digital exclusion. We recognised that many people in our community weren't able to access online schooling or work because they didn't have sufficient devices or internet connections at home. You can read more about the campaign here.

We're happy to say that we've had some initial success in the Shoreditch 300 campaign. We have now collectively distributed over 200 laptops / tablets to support home learning and working to members of our local community. St John's Hoxton has been able to handle the procurement and distribution of some of these laptops.

Here's some messages of thanks from members of our community who received support:

Thank you so much for the laptop its amazing and so much better than the phone. My phone only allowed me to see 4 people on zoom so when people were not on my phone screen I could not see photos and videos that were showing so I missed out on some parts of connect group... The laptop is helping me to feel very connected to church and God and not isolated during this pandemic when we cannot meet together only online
