#LoveHoxton

#LoveHoxton

#LoveHoxton is a project to celebrate the people, stories and heritage of Hoxton: a historic and vibrant inner-city neighbourhood on the edge of the City of London. Our project will explore Hoxton’s growth from its Anglo-Saxon origins, demonstrating how different communities from around the world have settled here and made the neighbourhood the dynamic place it is today. It will reveal the way in which the area has played a part in significant historic events, such as the Gunpowder Plot and the Abolitionist Movement, its relationship with the performing arts and culture, as well as its rich, social history.

#LoveHoxton will also meet the needs of Hoxton today: by revitalising our historic Grade II* church, adapting it to provide much-needed affordable community and co-working space and linking it to our development of affordable housing.  The project will see the local landmark of St John’s Hoxton become a community hub for everyone in this diverse neighbourhood.
