Changes to SJH Kids Ministry

As we step into this new season, we also want to take a moment to honour those who have served faithfully in Kids Ministry over the years. Their hard work, prayers, and love for the next generation have set strong foundations and created real momentum. We're so grateful for the seeds they've sown and we believe this next chapter builds beautifully on all they've given.
We're excited to let you know that from September, we'll be launching a brand-new Kids Ministry setup designed to better serve your children and support your whole family during our Sunday gatherings. Here's what's coming!
👶 Creche (Pre-schoolers)
We've created an unsupervised creche area for parents and carers of babies and toddlers (0 to Nursery). This space will be set up with toys, soft flooring, and a warm, welcoming vibe where your little ones can feel at home. Parents and carers are asked to stay with their little ones.
The best part? You won't miss out on the service as we're live streaming the service to a TV in the creche, so you can still be part of worship and teaching while keeping an eye on your child.
🎉 Joy Squad (School Years: Reception – Year 3)
We're giving our younger kids their own identity as the Joy Squad! This group is full of energy, laughter, and big questions and we want to channel all that into a fun, faith-building environment where they can start to explore who God is and how much He loves them. Expect games, stories, songs, crafts, and lots of joyful noise!
🛡️ Brave Believers (School Years 4–6)
Our older kids will now be known as the Brave Believers, a group focused on growing deeper in their faith and learning what it means to follow Jesus with courage and confidence. They'll still have loads of fun, but with more space for discussion, prayer, and deeper Bible moments that meet them where they're at.
🏠 All Together – Downstairs in the Crypt
Both Joy Squad and Brave Believers will meet together downstairs in the Crypt during the main service. They'll begin together for a time of worship, games, and shared teaching, then often split into smaller age-appropriate groups for activities and discussion.
Our amazing team is working hard to create a space where kids feel safe, seen, and spiritually fed while having a ton of fun in the process. We really believe this new setup will help our kids grow in faith and build lasting friendships.
We believe Kids Ministry is one of the most exciting and important ministries in the life of the church. We're looking for enthusiastic people who feel called to invest in the next generation and help shape the future of the church.
