Maundy Thursday Passover Meal 2018

Around 50 members of St John's gathered at church on Thursday evening to enjoy a passover meal together. The traditional Passover Seder (meal) recounts the story of God's deliverance of his people the Israelites from slavery in Egypt into freedom in the promised land. The Haggadah (order of service) we used was adapted to make connections between this historic deliverance and the greater deliverance from slavery to the powers of sin and death that Christ won for us at Easter. Sara Hunter led the evening, with help from Colleen and Graham - and every adult and child had an opportunity to contribute by reading words from the service order. We enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by James & Ruth from the bean Shed cafe (situated in our church gardens).[FAG id=1308]
