National Mourning for HM Queen Elizabeth II

We’re all saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As a Church of England parish church, St John’s Hoxton will be deeply involved in the period of National Mourning for the Queen.

This means that use of our church building will be prioritised for worship services, prayer and reflection in the period leading up to the State Funeral, expected to be held on Monday 19th September.

Details of what is happening at the church will be published here as activities are confirmed.

Church Open for National Mourning

The church building will be open daily from 12-2pm and again from 5-7pm for anyone to come and light a candle, pray, and leave messages in our Book of Condolences.

On Sundays, our worship services will be held as usual, and the church will be kept open in between the services for people to visit.
