What Is Lent?

Lent is a season of fasting, prayer and preparation for Easter in the Christian year. It runs from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday - usually around February to April each year. The season lasts for 46 days - 40 ‘fasting days’ and 6 Sundays. It is common for Christians to use the season of Lent for a special focus on their personal prayer and discipleship.

Lent Groups

To help every member of our church family engage with the season of Lent, we encourage people to join a Lent Group for 5-6 weeks during this season.

Lent Groups are usually made up of around 6-12 people who meet once a week during Lent for around 90 minutes. They often follow a special study guide to help them grow in their faith.

Groups running during 2025 are listed via the link below. Please have a look at the groups on offer, consider the topic they’re studying, and then sign up for a group that interests you.
