Intergenerational Women’s Brunch Report

After a successful Men’s Breakfast, a request was raised by Avril and Olivette that, rightfully, it would be great to host a St John’s Women’s Breakfast too! With support from the Organising for Growth Engagement Team, planning started in early Jan and a date was set for March 19th.

It was a beautiful spring day, where 45 women of all ages congregated to enjoy fun, fellowship and food. The title, Intergenerational Brunch, lived up to its name. It was especially encouraging to have 7 under 18s attendees.

‘Fruits of the spirit’ was the theme, and each table was beautifully decorated with flowers and gift bags. There was an array of cuisine from burritos, smoothies, cupcakes, muffins to yum-yums. In essence, something for everyone!

The set-up and set-down was a communal effort, with different individuals taking charge over a variety of areas. Special thanks to those who spent their Friday evening setting up the decor and preparing the food.

We could not have asked for a lovelier day, with great conversations, good food, and an excellent turnout. Here’s to the next one!
